One of our Guiding Principles at GhostRanch is to —œBe Excellent to Each Other.—

One of the best ways to do that? Get-to-know-you games of course! We send each other BuzzFeed personality quizzes and communicate a lot on a day-to-day basis internally. But we feel pretty lucky that we work with such a talented, fun group of people that we wanted to share (show off) a little of who we are.

Without further ado, Get to Know the Rancheros, in an alphabetical format...

Allie

Name: Allie Rotenberg

Nickname? Allie Ro

Hometown: Detroit, Michigan

What was the first thing that interested you in or drew you to design/art?
Comic Books, Cartoons

Where/When does lightning strike the inspiration tree for you?
Still from comic books and cartoons—¦ but also from Scandinavian design, nature, food and travel

Fave cartoon or illustrated book growing up?
Tim Burton—™s Nightmare Before Christmas, anything by Eric Carl, Dr. Seuss!

Favorite Typeface: (No judgement if it's Comic Sans)
I—™ll always have a soft spot for Futura!

What—™s the last mind-blowing fact you learned?
—œIf you were to take a packet of ramen and stretch out all of the noodles into one line, the approximate length would be 51 meters. This makes one packet of ramen longer than two tennis courts and an Olympic-size swimming pool!—

That weirded me out. Seems like you shouldn—™t be able to eat that much ramen—¦ but you can. Ohhhh you can.

What Does It Mean to Be a Ranchero?
Being a Ranchero means being proud of what I do—¦ and having an opportunity to make a positive impact while having fun! Dang, we—™re lucky!

Jeff

Name: Jeff Carter

Nickname? Jefé

Hometown: Westminster, Colorado

What was the first thing that interested you in or drew you to design/art?
Saturday Morning Cartoons

Fave cartoon or illustrated book growing up?
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

What is an annoying trope or pet peeve you have about design?
I am never really happy with something. I will always rework a design if I have time.

Favorite Typeface: (No judgement if it's Comic Sans)
Novecento Sans

If you—™re not designing, what are you doing? Tell us a hobby.
Brewing Beer with my best friend and dad

What—™s the last mind-blowing fact you learned?
—œIf we scaled the entire timeline of the cosmos to a calendar year, the entire recorded history of human life to present day would be 14 seconds.—

From the Cosmos (Both the original book and show by Carl Sagan and the newer version with Neil deGrasse Tyson)

What Does It Mean to Be a Ranchero?
To me, it means: Never working a day in my life because I am doing something I love with awesome coworkers.

MIKEY

Name: Mike Mioduski

Nickname? Mikey

Hometown: Loveland, Colorado

Where/When does lightning strike the inspiration tree for you?
Showers and road trips

Fave cartoon or illustrated book growing up?

What is an annoying trope or pet peeve you have about design?
Despite being at this for over a decade, still feeling like an imposter! (but I think that might be a good thing)

Favorite Typeface: (No judgement if it's Comic Sans)
Sharp Sans

If you—™re not designing, what are you doing? Tell us a hobby.
Surfing

What does it mean to you to be a Ranchero?
We are bringing a new level of creativity into a medium that often gets overlooked, which I think creates in we Rancheros a certain underdog spirit; we—™re a small studio fighting well above our weight. Treating others excellently, being responsive to our clients, believing in our work. Remembering not to take ourselves too seriously and having fun along the way. —œJust keep learning...—

Molly

When traveling solo

Scooby Scooby Dooooo! And If You Give A Mouse A Cookie

What is an annoying trope or pet peeve you have about design?
I don—™t understand anything they [the designers] say to me. Nah, I'm kidding. I sometimes think designers can be pretentious but not the Rancheros—”they let me in on the inside design jokes.

If you—™re not designing, what are you doing? Tell us a hobby.
I love to hike and craft and embarrass myself karaoke-ing

What Does It Mean to Be a Ranchero?
Getting to be as creative as I want alongside extremely talented people. It means to be part of the larger Ranchero story which is what we—™re all about.

What—™s the last mind-blowing fact you learned? OR Favorite TED Talk
Your Body Language May Shape Who You Are

What Does It Mean to Be a Ranchero?
It—™s hard to say [writing this] on my first day but I—™m excited to help people succeed in the spotlight. Anyone presenting is likely passionate and knowledgeable. Keeping them excited, calming some nerves and learning about their cause all sound like great reasons to go to work. Being part of such a friendly and talented team is a massive perk too. 😊
